An astounding selection of everything imaginable for pet lovers and the pets they love is packed into Bark Harbor’s 720-square-feet of space in the heart of Bar Harbor’s downtown shopping district. From hordes of colorful collars to pet stickers, clothing, hats and picture frames, this little shop has something for pet people of all tastes.

Owners Gale & Tom Abbot and store manager Diana de los Santos are such animal lovers themselves, it is easy to see why they’ve been so successful since the Abbotts purchased the business in 2008. The three love talking about pets, and welcome shoppers to bring their canine companions into the store.

A community of pet lovers has formed online around Bark Harbor’s popular Facebook page. De los Santos posts pictures of customers’ pets weekly and often lists animals available for adoption. Customers are invited to weigh in on products they would like to see carried in the store.
