Winter 2014
Check it Out! By Becky Tyre

First impressions are important in retail, but last impressions are just that – lasting. The accessibility and presentation of the cash-wrap affect the final amount of a sale, future correspondence opportunities and set the tone for turning a new patron into a returning customer.

Cash-Wrap Checklist

Make sure your store’s cash-wrap has:

1. Adequate space for customers to place purchases and a handbag and still have room to sign a
credit card receipt

2. Interesting displays on and near the cash-wrap to encourage browsing and add-on sales

3. Space behind the checkout area reinforcing the retail brand with the store logo and name

4. Store supplies neatly organized and readily available behind the cash-wrap
