Ideas for gifts and personal enjoyment abound at Ashley Place Gift Shop & Tea Room, 3875 Pearl Road, Medina. That has to be the result of owner Mary Jane Duplaga’s amazing eye for arranging themed tables and displays to help customers.
Duplaga has a long history in Medina. Her business actually started out as a garden center, The Village Gardner, in 1975. In the early 1990s, once the big-box stores became popular, she determined there weren’t many places to go for unique gifts and shifted her focus to gifts and collectibles. She also added a tea room, which has remained a popular luncheon spot for all these years.
But times continue to change, and Duplaga has stayed abreast of the market, providing her customers with the items they want to buy without having to go to far away places to get them.
