City of Elma Launches Shop Local Campaign with BRIDGE Bucks
Elma, IA – A new program called BRIDGE Bucks, and created to help promote the Elma area, is taking off! As part of a larger shop local joint campaign from the marketing arm of The BRIDGE Organization Inc. and the Young Professionals marketing sub-committee, BRIDGE Bucks goal is two-fold; promote all that the Elma-area has to offer and encourage residents to spend more dollars in the community in which they live. “While we realize it is not possible to buy everything locally, we want to heighten the importance of buying locally because ‘What Stays Local, Grows Local,’ ” commented Jamie Shatek, Young Professionals marketing sub-committee member. Shatek along with Erin Ludwig of the Young Professionals assist Callie Weigel, marketing chairperson for Elma’s community betterment group, The BRIDGE Organization, Inc.
BRIDGE Bucks are gift certificate-like checks issued in increments of $5 up to a maximum of $25 which are available for purchase through Peoples Savings Bank in Elma. BRIDGE Bucks can be redeemed at any Elma area business as well as businesses in the Alta Vista or Lourdes area that are members of The BRIDGE Organization; a growing list of these participating businesses is provided with each BRIDGE Bucks purchase.
