Familiar Downtown Retailer Opens New Store
New Bern, NC – Balloons were bobbing in the breeze and the band was playing Thursday at new downtown New Bern retail shop, South Front Clothing & Accessories.
Owners Robyn and Scott Johnston waited for their elementary school son and daughter to join them before they began the celebration with friends, loyal customers and many they hope will become loyal customers, with New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce members stepping up to help cut the ribbon.
The New Bern couple took their initial dive into retail apparel and accessories 14 years ago with Peacock’s Plume and lived through one of the worst periods of retail sales the country has seen in nearly a century.
