Pittsburgh, PA – Jon Weston, owner of Katy’s Kandy, is preparing to open his second downtown Pittsburgh location, leasing a 2,000-square-foot storefront in a distinctive and historic metal-clad building the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation has restored on Wood Street.

The new Katy’s Kandy, named after Weston’s daughter, is near the new Tower at PNC Plaza under construction on Fifth Avenue.

Katy’s Kandy’s Fifth Avenue Place location is performing better than expected, Weston said, and he’s eager to open the Wood Street store that will have 1,000 bulk candy items as well as a new addition, greeting cards and gift items, that he sees as lacking in downtown’s retail mix.
