San Francisco International Gift Fair Celebrates San Francisco Identity

White Plains, NY – Embracing San Francisco’s unique identity, the upcoming San Francisco International Gift Fair will focus on what sets the city apart as a trailblazer in emerging trends, and as a leading destination. In line with this, green products, wine accessories and museum gift resources will be given particular prominence at the Fair, January 26-29, 2008 at the Moscone Center.

A market spotlight on The Museum Source division will be augmented by a complimentary list of companies offering museum resources and special programming on museum store profitability, while growth in the wine category will be complemented by a Wine Tasting Reception at the permanent showrooms of the Giftcenter & Jewelrymart, Sunday, January 27, 2008. A “Green Display” will highlight eco-friendly merchandise, featuring green products presented throughout the Fair’s 17 divisions. In addition, a green resources list also will be provided to buyers.

“Celebrating all that makes San Francisco the urban capital of the Pacific Northwest puts the San Francisco International Gift Fair on the cutting-edge of very real, dynamic lifestyle trends that will define the direction that consumers across the country are headed,” said Wendy Tonkin, President, Western Exhibitors, Inc.

Fun showfloor activities, exciting programs, a “Retail Tour” and an Opening Night Reception at 111 Minna Gallery – featuring complimentary drinks, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment – also will enhance the market experience for 16,000 buyers.

Committed to providing an ideal environment for doing business, the Fair will continue to ‘roll out the red carpet’ for retailers with amenities such as “The Lounge” relaxation and refreshment zones located directly on the showfloor. An onsite Cyber Lounge, located in the connecting corridor between Moscone’s North and South Halls, will provide complimentary Internet service to Gift Fair participants.

The SFIGF will feature some 1,200 exhibitors in 17 divisions: Accent on Design; At Home; Cash & Carry; Details; Distinctive Lines; FoodFocus; GardenStyle; General Gift; Handmade; The Jewelry Vaultsm; Just Kidstuff; The Museum Source; Personal Accessories; PetStyle; Stationery & Trend; Village Arts and The Vintage Collection.

The 30th semi-annual edition of the San Francisco International Gift Fair will run in cooperation with the permanent showrooms of the Giftcenter & Jewelrymart and the San Francisco Furniture Mart. Attendees of the Fair can use their buyer badges to shop the Giftcenter & Jewelrymart during Pre-Fair Days, Wednesday, January 23rd through Friday, January 25th, 2008, as well as the San Francisco Furniture Mart Friday, January 25th through Monday, January 28, 2008 – offering more opportunities to find unique, well-known product lines.
