Alexa’s Angels Inspires Town to “Pass On the Positive”

Windsor, CO — Alexa’s Angels, a Windsor-based inspirational gift jewelry manufacturer known for its high quality, original designs, recently held a unique event designed to help fellow residents honor the anniversary of a devastating tornado that ripped through their town one year ago on May 22nd 2008. The company hosted a “Pass on the Positive” food drive and handed out newly designed bracelets featuring the word “positivity” in exchange for a non-perishable food donation. It was the company’s way of giving back and supporting the community during these challenging times.

“It’s been a tough year with the tornado and the economy, but we’re all still here — we should be very proud,” said Alexa’s Angels Founder Beth Lang. The company’s main facility was directly in the path of the tornado and sustained substantial damage. “The community’s resiliency and strength have really inspired us and we wanted to give back and show our appreciation. I designed this bracelet to help people remember the importance of being positive. Last month we mailed out over 2,500 sets to friends, family and customers with a letter asking the receiver to keep one and pass the others on. The feedback was fantastic and we thought it would be a great idea to use their popularity to help out the Food Bank. Positivity can be contagious! It fuels optimism, hope and feelings of strength and these are things we can all use and share.”

The idea was well received by the community with nearly 1,200 individual donations being made resulting in truckloads of goods bound for the local food pantry. “We saw a significant increase of families needing assistance after the tornado, and it hasn’t decreased since. I am sure this is also due to the economy,” said Brenda Heckman, Director of the Windsor Food Pantry. “People were excited to come out and support the community,” said Lang. “We were glad to be able to support the community by doing what we do best.”

The Positivity Bracelets feature a rhodium band inscribed with the word “positivity” on a black stretch nylon wrist band. They are packaged as a set of three tied together with a black bow. The idea is to keep one for yourself and pass on the positive by giving the other two away to a friend, loved one or whomever you want to inspire. The set of three bracelets has a suggested retail of $8.00
