Home Inspires Retailers, Attracts A-List Designers this January

Atlanta, GA—The Home product center continues to inspire retailers and designers this January, further expanding on the new product offering and discovery that came with the debut of the redesigned 14th floor of Building 1 in July. Building 1—the prime destination for Home—features more design-driven home furnishings and accessories, fine linens, spectacular one-of-a-kind area rugs and the largest collection of holiday/floral/home product with more introductions and more education this January.

Taking center stage in Home is the re-launch of the fine linens floors 9 and 10 in Building 1, creating a seamless two-story product center offering a unique mix of soft goods and designer-oriented merchandise. Enriching this category, AmericasMart is strategically staging anchor showrooms on these floors to generate energy and attract more buyers with enhanced cross-merchandising opportunities. Aligning with these floors, the home furnishings and accessories floors 11-14 continue to develop into a designer-driven center, taking lead from the 14th floor.

As the Home collection grows, it is attracting more industry attention with guest appearances by celebrity designers and exclusive product presentations. Headlining Home this January:

Kathryn M. Ireland—presents “Creating a Home,” a special discussion on her design philosophy, aesthetic inspirations and unique sources from around the world, sharing her process of combining pattern, texture and color to create the feelings of a well-lived life. Followed by a signing of her just-released book, Creating a Home.

Brad Ford—speaks about “The Accidental Blogger,” providing personal insight on how his quest for inspiration quickly detoured into the world of social media marketing.

Tom Filicia—shares his design philosophy and inspirations. Followed by a meet & greet and signing of his book, Style: Inspired Ideas for Creating Rooms You’ll Love.

“The energy and excitement exuding from within the Home product center has brought this category to a new level, attracting major industry players and internationally-renowned designers,” says Dave Savula, senior vice president of Building 1. “With this growth, we have reinvented ourselves and created a fresh center unlike any other. We look forward to its continued development in 2010 and beyond.”
