Gourmet Housewares Show Moves to New York City in 2011

White Plains, NY – GLM, LLC has announced that its Gourmet Housewares Show® will move to New York City, beginning in January 2011, to be presented annually within the winter edition of the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace.

This strategic co-location will bring some 150 new exhibitors, showcasing gourmet housewares, cookware and specialty foods, to NYIGF, complementing the Fair’s existing Tabletop & Housewaresdivision, for a comprehensive presentation of 350 gourmet kitchenware and specialty tabletop resources. Relocation plans were developed in response to an industry-wide survey that revealed a need for a housewares event at the beginning of the calendar year.

“This new market platform offers advantageous 1st quarter timing and expanded cross-marketing opportunities to benefit both retailers and vendors and, with NYIGF’s semi-annual timing, affords a 3rd quarter market opportunity for interested exhibitors,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “Exhibitors gain access to an exponentially larger attendee base than ever before, and buyers benefit from the influx of gourmet resources alongside NYIGF’s existing and unparalleled gift, tabletop and home offerings.”

There is considerable overlap in the buyer profiles for both the Gourmet Housewares Show and NYIGF. Each attracts independent retailers, high end specialty stores, department stores, big box retail buyers, catalogs, key mass merchandisers and leading direct marketers. “The Gourmet Housewares Show has always appealed to buyers who understand their customers’ passion for food and entertaining,” said Belshaw. “This profile applies to NYIGF’s gift, home and gourmet specialty attendees as well.”

Since its inception, the Gourmet Housewares Show has provided a professional marketplace for the gourmet products and upscale housewares industries, offering a comprehensive mix of innovative new products, leading resources, and industry trends, and the only industry event to focus exclusively on high-end cookware, cutlery, bakeware, gadgets, tabletop, kitchen textiles and specialty food.

NYIGF presents 2,700 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware within eight carefully categorized divisions. Some 31,000 attendees from all 50 states and 85 countries attend the semi-annual market.

Dates for the winter 2011 Market are Saturday, January 29 through Thursday, February 3, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94. For information and registration, visit www.nyigf.com.
