EX•TRACTS® Welcomes New & Returning Companies To Winter 2011 NYIGF

White Plains, NY – Spa, salon and personal care retailers will find a number of newcomers – both first time and returning to market – at the winter 2011 edition of EX•TRACTS® at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®). EX•TRACTS runs January 30 – February 3, 2011, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Some 100 exhibitors in EX•TRACTS – one of 10 NYIGF divisions – showcase cosmetics, perfumes, skincare, bath & body care, beauty accessories, hair care, natural/organic products and well-being lines.

“In addition to growing demand for natural and organic products, consumers are showing increasing interest in hand crafted items,” said Melissa Engongoro, EX•TRACTS sales manager. “This winter, buyers at EX•TRACTS will find a wide range of artisanal personal care products, which feature both heightened quality and detail.”

Newcomers to EX•TRACTS include Aquiesse (soy wax candles); Bare Kiss Skincare (organic body and skincare products); FarmHouse Fresh (handmade, natural skincare); and Le Angelique (hair styling accessories). Additionally, Caren Products (luxury skin care products) will return to EX•TRACTS following an absence.

Several companies plan to maximize their continued participation in EX•TRACTS through increased exhibit space for the winter market. This includes Aspen Bay Candles (candles, potpourri, fragrance); Simpatico (hand-crafted scent products and home accessories); and Xela Aroma (candles and diffusers).

This winter, EX•TRACTS will again partner with the Day Spa Association to present a spa-focused seminar during NYIGF. A three-part session, “Boost Your Spa Retail Profits,” will be offered at the Javits Center on Monday, January 31, from 9:30AM – 12:30PM, with continental breakfast and networking, sponsored by Natural Resources and MySpa Shop.com. The session will address consumer trends, as well as new sales techniques and how to create inexpensive, in-house events, and panelists include Eric Light of Eric Light and executive director of the Day Spa Association; Patti Biro, president of Biro and Associates; and Kimberley Matheson Shedrick, president of Natural Resources and MySpaShop.com. Seminar tickets are $40 in advance and $50 onsite, and as an added bonus, each registrant will receive a free one-year membership in the Day Spa Association, a value of $195.

Additional onsite seminars offered as part of NYIGF will cover a variety of topics, including color trends, marketing through social media, and “green” retailing opportunities. Details and registration for all sessions are available online at www.nyigf.com/programs.

Select EX•TRACTS exhibitors will be recognized for excellence in five categories – Bath & Body, Beauty Accessory, Cosmetic & Fragrance, Natural/Organic and Packaging and one overall “Best of Show” distinction – as part of the semi-annual Best New Products Awards. Winners and finalists, selected by a panel of editors based on innovative product concept, industry need, aesthetic appeal, creative use of materials/technology and creative packaging, will be announced on Tuesday, February 1.

EX•TRACTS show hours are 9:00AM-6:00PM daily, except for Thursday, when NYIGF closes at 12:00 Noon.
