Curious Chef To Attend 2011 International Housewares Show March 6-8, 2011, Chicago, IL

Chef®, the first complete cooking utensil brand for children, is excited to take part in the 2011 International Housewares Show, March 6-8, in Chicago, IL. They will be located at booth #S3451.

Because of growing obesity issues in the United States, Curious Chef® will be focusing on the benefits of educating kids about healthy eating during this year’s show. “Healthy eating is such an important lesson to teach young children,” states John Wilde, President of Curious Chef®. “The Curious Chef® line of children’s utensils gives parents the perfect platform to instruct their children about the importance of good nutrition,” he adds.

Combining the aspect of fun and healthy eating has been a winning combination for the product line. As a recent recipient of Tillywig Toy Awards, Top Fun Award, Curious Chef® has a firm grasp on the concept of fun. “It has been said that the kitchen is the heart of the home. We are thrilled that our products are bringing families back into the kitchen to create fun memories while teaching a lifetime of healthy eating habits,” Wilde responds.

One of the key goals of Curious Chef® has always been to create a product line of real kitchen utensils designed specifically for the unique needs of children. “Often, tools that are designed for adults are too difficult or dangerous for children to use on their own. This causes a big disconnect for children in the process of cooking. By limiting the cooking activities in which they can safely participate, children are not able to take ownership of the foods they eat,” suggest Megan Manis, Director, Sales & Marketing for Curious Chef®.

Studies have shown a direct correlation between actively taking part in cooking and the willingness to try new foods. “When a child is able to really contribute to meal preparation, they are much more willing and excited to experiment and try the foods they have created,” Manis notes. “This exploration helps them expand their food choices and try a wider variety of foods,” she adds.

The bottom line with the entire Curious Chef® is to bring families together to enjoy the art of cooking, a goal that does not go unnoticed by Wilde. “We are thrilled that our products are bringing families back into the kitchen. We look forward to helping parents coach their youngsters in the art of cooking while developing a lifelong love of healthy and wholesome food choices,” he concludes.

The Curious Chef team looks forward to sharing more about this important initiative at their booth #S3451, during the International Housewares Show, March 6-8, 2011.
