Bob Byers Jr., President of Byers’ Choice, a family-owned company based in Bucks County, Pa., will visit the Vaillancourt Folk Art 17th Annual Collector’s Weekend on Saturday, April 28, from 1:30—2:30 p.m. As a member of the family known for its famous holiday Caroler figurines, Bob will speak from personal experience about the importance of American-made items and family-owned businesses.
Byers’ Choice will introduce a new custom Caroler specifically for the event. The Caroler portrays Santa with a handful of Vaillancourt collectables. Bob will be available to discuss the concept behind the Caroler, as well as autograph the piece for fans.
Bob’s mother and Byers’ Choice founder, Joyce Byers, began making the iconic Byers’ Choice Carolers at her dining room table in the 1960s. What was once a hobby has grown into a family business that today employs more than 100 Pennsylvania artisans, and each year provides hundreds of thousands of Carolers to retailers across the United States.
“Keeping jobs in America is important to Byers’ Choice and my family,” said Bob Byers Jr. “Manufacturing products at our workshop in Bucks County allows us to ensure what we produce maintains the quality and integrity of our family name.”
In addition to being American-made products, Byers’ Choice items are sold in independent gift stores across the country, including Vaillancourt Folk Art. When customers buy a Caroler, they are also supporting community business owners and boosting their local economies.
Along with a presentation from Bob, the Collector’s Weekend will include various educational lectures, limited-edition pieces, workshops, a reception and dinner.
