Southworth Announces Acquisition of The Madison Park Group

Southworth Company, manufacturer of the most popular retail brand of premium cotton and other fine papers for over 170 years, has acquired The Madison Park Group, a leader in the social expressions and gift industry. “We are thrilled to welcome everyone from The Madison Park Group into our family of companies,” shares David Southworth, 5th generation company President. “They have an impressive and unique business model and we have long been aware of their success in the competitive social expressions and gift industries. We look forward to supporting their continued growth in the specialty retail segment.” The Madison Park Group and its employees will remain headquartered in Seattle, WA and will retain the company’s name and business model under the leadership of Co-Presidents Brian Jacobsen and Glen Biely.

The Southworth Company was founded in 1839 in West Springfield, Massachusetts and today is the market leader in the business, resume and premium paper industry. The company produces a full range of specialty papers at its paper mill in Turners Falls, MA. Southworth continues to expand its reach into the social expressions industry with the acquisition of The Madison Park Group, as it also owns Lallie, an upbeat yet traditional line of personalized invitations, cards and gifts.
