Sleek, Simple, and Sustainable: The Calibowl Wins “Green House” Design Award in 2013 Housewares Design Awards Competition
Honoring eco-responsible innovation, the 2013 Housewares Design Awards competition has awarded its coveted “Green House” Design Award to the Simple Wave Calibowl Non-Spill 5-Piece Iconic Mixing Bowl Set, “a Better Bowl for a Better Planet.”
Designed, manufactured and assembled in the United States, these colorful bowls are made with a non-toxic, BPA-free, recycled plastic that is also 100% recyclable. At the end of their lifecycle, the bowls can be discarded in the recycling bin, or they can be returned to the company through the innovative ‘recycle-a-bowl’ program, where they will be transformed into new Calibowls.
Also eco-friendly is the packaging, which features a new design utilizing 80% less material. The packaging is made with recycled material that is 100% recyclable as well.
Hand in hand with the Calibowl’s eco-responsible design, is its innovative functionality that solves a common problem in the kitchen. It features non-spill smart lip technology, with a lip that guides the food back into the bowl and onto your utensil, eliminating any over the edge spills, while providing effortless one-handed control for cooking or serving.
The Housewares Design Awards are presented by HomeWorld Business®, with sponsorship by The Gourmet Housewares Show at NYIGF®, Whitford Corporation and Gourmet Insider magazine. Independent product judging is managed exclusively by Housewares Design Awards LLC.
