The Madison Park Group Companies Earn the Most LOUIE Award Nominations for the Second Straight Year

The Madison Park Group and its partner companies are thrilled to announce ten of their greeting cards were selected as finalists for the upcoming LOUIE Awards. Now in its 25th year, the prestigious LOUIE Awards – often referred to as the “Oscars” of the greeting card industry – recognize the most outstanding greeting cards, invitations and announcements marketed in the U.S. during the previous calendar year.

This year, a record-breaking 220 companies worldwide submitted a combined total of more than 1,000 entries, all of which were marketed and sold in the United States during 2012. “We are extremely honored for 10 of our card designs to be chosen as LOUIE Award finalists. It’s exciting for our companies and artists to receive such recognition from the Greeting Card Association,” shares Glen Biely, Co- President of The Madison Park Group. “We have seen the quality and quantity of entries steadily increase each year and we are thrilled to be among those selected as finalists.”

Shannon Martin | Girl Designer, in partnership with The Madison Park Group, gained three finalist nominations in the Sympathy, Christmas/Seasonal (humorous), and Family Celebrations categories, all $3.50 or less. Designer and founder, Shannon Martin, whose line features vintage family photos paired with Shannon’s signature humor, is a 13-time LOUIE Award nominee and 5-time award winner.

Madison Park Greetings gained seven nominations this year—four with cards featuring artwork from Katie Daisy and one each featuring designs from SnorgCards, Jillian Phillips, and Susan Arnot. Madison Park Greetings is nominated in the Birthday (humorous), Birthday (general), Christmas/Seasonal (general), Mother’s Day, Sympathy, Romantic Occasions, and Valentine’s Day categories, all $3.50 or less.

Winners in every category, as well as the top prize Cards of the Year, will be announced during the 25th Anniversary LOUIE Awards Gala, to be held during the National Stationery Show on Sunday, May 19, at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.

With roots tracing back to 1977, The Madison Park Group, a Southworth Company, established itself as one of the earliest specialty greeting card companies in the country. Today, the company has expanded through strategic manufacturing and distribution arrangements and partnerships with the leading designers in the industry. Throughout its 35 year history, The Madison Park Group and its partners have combined to receive over 40 LOUIE nominations and have been awarded 19 LOUIEs, including Card of the Year, for partner company I Can Has Cheezburger, in 2011.
