CMC Debuts New Resources, New Men’s Market & Special Event to Celebrate It’s 50 Year Anniversary During LA Fashion Market

The California Market Center (CMC) will be presenting thousands of Spring 2014 collections to buyers, Sunday-Wednesday, October 13 – 16, 2013, during Los Angeles Fashion Market. Resources will be featured throughout hundreds of the CMC’s showrooms, in addition to special exhibit areas SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow and TRANSIT Footwear & Accessories Show, and the debut of Los Angeles Men’s Market on AREA4. To complete the Market experience, buyers and industry guests are invited to attend various special events, including the CMC’s 50th Anniversary Reception and keynote speech by Mayor Eric Garcetti, on Monday, October 14, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the Main Lobby, and a variety of hospitality perks throughout each day.

Monday evening, buyers and industry guests are invited to the LA Fashion Market Reception, in conjunction with the CMC’s 50th Anniversary. The California Market Center officially opened for business in 1963. To commemorate 50 years as being the cornerstone and heart of the Los Angeles fashion industry, a reception will be taking place in the CMC’s Main Lobby from 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Monday, October 14, 2013. Mayor Eric Garcetti will be a keynote speaker at the event, and Jaime Lee, President of the CMC, will lead a champagne toast. Furthermore, the event will include a fashion installation highlighting fashion trends over the 5 decades, featuring vintage outfits from The Way We Wore, red carpet entrance, live band Ground Control, passed hors d’oeuvres, and refreshments.

Additionally, buyers and attendees can expect numerous perks and giveaways, including Snack and Sip stations on various show floors, offering Luna Bars, Honest Tea, Dry Soda, and Vita Coco Coconut Water.
