Marketing Automation Company SnapRetail Experiences 340% Growth in Q1 2014

SaaS (software-as-a-service) marketing automation startup SnapRetail experienced more than a four-fold increase in customer subscription growth in Q1 2014 over Q1 2013.

The Pittsburgh-based company has added almost 60% of the total customers acquired in 2013 in just the first three months of 2014. SnapRetail provides a leading marketing automation solution for independent retailers who want to invest in online marketing but don’t necessarily have the time or expertise to do it well.

The company met or exceeded all of the key performance indicators it set for the quarter, including subscription revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and hiring.

The company also achieved significant milestones when compared to Q1 2013, including a 67% growth in average dollars per order and a 25% reduction in overall cancelation rate.

“We are off to a very fast start in 2014,” said CEO Ted Teele. “This demonstrates that our unique model of providing a comprehensive marketing automation platform, coupled with ready-made promotional content, allows all independent retailers to benefit from the types of online marketing programs big-box retailers employ at a price point that meets their budget.”

The company’s differentiating value is that it crafts thousands of professionally designed, pre-written email templates and social media posts that are retail-focused and designed to drive store traffic and sales. In conjunction with this ready-to-use content, the company also provides a planning calendar that enables customers to schedule each month’s worth of complete promotional campaigns in about 3 hours, less than the time it takes to create one email template in competing products.

Retail-specific capabilities for email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and coupons round out the solution, as well as a photo-taking app for mobile phones. Other unique benefits include a dedicated marketing consultant to help each retailer gain the full potential of online marketing, and multiple free educational webinars each month.

SnapRetail saves busy store owners both time and money and is the only marketing solution targeted specifically to all small business retail sectors. The company’s customers range from pet stores and florists to cafes, jewelers, fashion boutiques and 50 other retail verticals and include both brick and mortar and online stores.

Based in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, and founded in early 2010, the company currently employs 70 people and is expanding their office space by 33% this year.
