Holiday Launch Doubles Market Sales For Napa Home & Garden

Napa Home & Garden, the Atlanta-based home décor wholesaler, reports that sales from this January’s Atlanta market more than doubled from this time one year ago. The company also saw increases in January sales at the Dallas market, where orders tripled in size from last January, and the Las Vegas market, were sales numbers more than doubled.

The driver behind this unprecedented growth was the company’s new entry into the holiday category.

“The response to Napa Holiday was tremendous,” says Jerry Cunningham, Napa CEO. “We saw a record-breaking stream of customers and had one of the busiest showrooms at market.”

Napa used the Atlanta market to launch their first-ever holiday collection—over 700 new selections organized in six curated themes. Items included hand-blown glass ornaments, magnolia wreaths and garlands, lush holiday greens, and glittering tabletop décor.

“Our merchandising approach was clean and organized in our showrooms, with a dramatic use of color,” says Robert Jones, Napa VP-Creative. “Holiday was layered-in with home and garden as it would be in a retail store. Our decorated trees and vignettes showed multiple products in use—and retailers really loved it.”

Jones, who joined Napa in August, was the driving force behind the holiday launch. Formerly of Sage & Co., Jones also directed the re-design and expansion of Napa’s flagship showroom at AmericasMart Atlanta. In turn, Napa was recognized with a ‘best of floor’ award, their fourth in the last five markets in Atlanta.

“It was our prettiest showroom ever,” says KC Cunningham, Napa President and Creative Director. “Returning customers, new customers, Napa reps—everybody found it breathtaking.”

The holiday launch and re-designed showroom also grew the company’s core business. Sales of home, floral and garden products in Atlanta saw a 25% increase from last January. Napa’s top selling categories this January were decorative ceramics, permanent floral drop-ins, preserved boxwoods, rattan and fibreclay planters.

“The integration of home dec, garden, floral and holiday at a high taste level has set Napa apart,” states Jerry Cunningham. “Few can match today what we offer retailers.”

“Napa is the ultimate one-stop shopping experience,” adds Pam Campbell, Napa National Sales Manager. “Our showrooms are merchandised to inspire retailers and to show the possibilities of what they can create in their own stores.”

Based on Napa’s results from Atlanta market, it seems retailers are getting the message.
