NY NOW expecting record-breaking number of exhibitors for upcoming summer show

Record-breaking interest from new and returning companies is fueling momentum for a blockbuster summer 2015 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, to be held Aug. 15-19, at New York City’s Javits Convention Center. The summer market also will feature the largest to date edition of Artisan Resource, now in its fourth year alongside NY NOW.

A record 632 exhibiting companies — of the market’s scheduled 2,600-plus — are new to the summer market. Of these newcomers, nearly 400 are first-time participants, and 230-plus are returning to NY NOW following an absence from the New York market. While these companies are distributed across NY NOW’s three collections — HOME, LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE — two special New Exhibitor Pavilions will be filled exclusively with companies making their New York Market debuts in August.

“NY NOW is currently at 97 percent capacity, and with this week’s addition of a second New Exhibitor Pavilion, we expect that continued demand from new companies will result in a sold-out summer Market,” said Randi Mohr, NY NOW co-director and vice president.

Following the near-immediate sell-out of a first New Exhibitor Pavilion, which will feature 48 companies in the 1D Lobby, and with continuing demand from newcomers to NY NOW, a second New Exhibitor Pavilion has been added the Level 3 exhibit floor. Collectively, the two New Exhibitor Pavilions will present nearly 80 new-to-the-market companies, featuring a full range of home and lifestyle products, in nearly 8,000 square feet of exhibit space. Exhibitors to be featured in the second showcase of first-time exhibitors include: Calliope Jewelry, G.I.V.E., Orbitkey and VIM & VIGR.

The mix of new and returning product offerings at NY NOW will be complemented by the biggest ever edition of Artisan Resource, a first-of-its-kind market offering U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers, designers and wholesalers the opportunity to meet with international artisanal producers. A record 155 exhibitors from 33 countries, including 99 newcomers spread over 9,500 square feet, are fueling what is to be Artisan Resource’s largest show yet. Artisan Resource exhibitors showcase a variety of overseas export enterprises and organizations offering handmade product collections and custom design production from around the world.

In addition to these concentrations of newcomers, NY NOW will showcase nearly 250 returning exhibitors in its three collections and ten sections this summer. Additions to the previously announced roster of returns to NY NOW are dbO Home, LLC and MODSHOP in Home Furnishings + Textiles; bambu and Twig New York in Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares; babydeedee and ZoLi Inc in Baby + Child; Eni Puzzles and Walker in Gift; f. is for frank and Matta in Personal Accessories; Lubin North America and HELIOTROPE LLC in Personal Care + Wellness; Fort Standard and Native Union in Accent on Design; CALLIOPE and LUprints in Handmade Designer Maker and Kamibashi Asian Art and Manifest Design in Handmade Global Design

In addition to product sourcing opportunities, market attendees can take advantage of a comprehensive suite of seminars and events. Leading industry experts will dissect practically every aspect of business operations — social media marketing, visual merchandising, tax preparation, demographics analysis, importing advice — and share savvy, actionable strategies. A slate of events, including NY NOW’s popular Night on Broadway, featuring specially priced tickets to HAMILTON is also on tap. A full seminar and event schedule is available online at www.nynow.com/programs and advance pricing discounts are in effect through Aug. 14.

Presented as part of NY NOW’s HANDMADE Collection, Artisan Resource offers a production-sourcing venue for overseas artisan enterprises to showcase their products and production capabilities — at export terms — from their country of origin. The semi-annual tradeshow is managed by Emerald Expositions and organized with the assistance of ByHand Consulting.
