June Lightovation, enlightening the lighting industry

Dallas Market Center today announced the details of Lightovation, the Dallas International Lighting Show, to be held June 22-25, 2016. The Market offers thousands of domestic and international buyers unmatched new lighting resources as well as educational seminars presented by the American Lighting Association (ALA), guest speaker Randall Whitehead and networking opportunities.

The third annual Market Choice Awards, an awards program designed to recognize new products in six categories including: Bath, Chandeliers/Pendants, Outdoor, Landscape, Ceiling Fans, and Portable Lamps will announce this year’s winners during Lightovation on June 24 at 2 p.m. Attendees will be able to vote using the Lightovation app and profiles of all entries will be on display in the Trade Mart.

The seventh annual Showroom of the Year Awards celebrates retail excellence among lighting showrooms, with top honors going to one store in each of three dollar-volume categories, plus specialty awards for merchandising display, community involvement and social media engagement. The awards will be revealed Wednesday, June 22 at 6 p.m. on the fourth floor loft of the Trade Mart.

Lighting After Dark will take place on a new night this year, Wednesday of Market week instead of Thursday. Buyers and exhibitors are invited to attend the Lighting After Dark party at Kitchen Table located on the first floor of the downtown Sheraton Hotel, the official Market hotel for the lighting industry, on Wednesday, June 22 at 8 p.m. to enjoy cocktails and networking with fellow lighting professionals, manufacturers, buyers and reps.

LIGHTSTARS, a program honoring the top showroom sales people in the lighting industry gives showroom sales people who haven’t attended Market recently the ability to attend the largest residential lighting show in North America and the opportunity to network and gain valuable education through ALA seminars. The program is available to showroom sales people that have not attended Dallas Market in the past two years.
