Sacramento, CA – There’s a push to make local museum gift shops a destination, rather than an afterthought.

Gift shop revenue has increased at places such as the State Indian Museum, the Sacramento History Museum and Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, according to information provided by the Sacramento Association of Museums. Managers at the shops are noticing a difference.

“It’s been really nice because people have been coming in from all different areas, not just Sacramento,” said Donna Natsoulas, store manager/buyer for Sacramento’s Crocker Art Museum.
