Glen Rock, NJ – Dee Stevens, owner of Grow-Cery in Glen Rock, has worked to carve out a specialty toy niche

Opened in 1993, The Grow-Cery Ltd. is an independently owned toy store serving children of all ages and adults at 190 Rock Road in Glen Rock. Owner Dee Stevens is the store’s sole full-time worker. Stevens took a few minutes away from tending to her shop recently to answer questions for The Record about the serious business of selling fun products. (Responses edited for length and clarity.)

Q. The universe of toy products is huge and your store’s footprint is fairly small, at least compared to Toys “R” Us and big-box stores that sell toys. How do you decide which toys deserve your limited shelf space?
