Retail spending on the rise in March
An increase in consumer spending has come with the arrival of spring, according to a Reuters article published on Tuesday, April 14.
Lucia Mutikani of Reuters reports retail sales rose 0.9 percent in March, breaking a three-month stretch of declining sales numbers attributed to the harsh weather much of the nation experienced during the winter.
The rise in retail spending was the largest since March 2014. Automobiles, furniture, clothing, building materials, restaurants and bars accounted for the bulk of retail sales, Reuters reported.
