Social Media Experts Praise Gooseberry Patch’s Recipe for Success on Pinterest

Pinterest is the new darling of the social media scene, and thousands of longtime fans of Gooseberry Patch, an independent cookbook publishing company located in Ohio’s heartland, are responding to the company’s expanded presence on the site with overwhelming enthusiasm.

Jessica Watson and Tracy Morrison, co-founders of Pin Savvy Social, a social media consulting team that specializes in pairing products and consumers through Pinterest, praise Gooseberry Patch’s efforts. “Gooseberry Patch does an amazing job of maintaining their pin boards. Not only do they pin their own products, but Gooseberry Patch pins unique ideas and fantastic recipes from all over the web, giving their customers a feel for what inspires them and gets their creative juices flowing,” they say.

Gooseberry Patch’s inspirational Pinterest boards, such as Craftroom, Country Garden and Let’s Get Organized, have gained nearly 10,000 followers since their debut.

“By actively engaging on Pinterest and not just using it for self-promotion, companies like Gooseberry Patch can strengthen relationships with their customers and also get more insight into what potential customers are most interested in,” say Watson and Morrison.

In January, Pinterest reached 11.7 million unique visitors, meaning it has passed the 10 million mark faster than any other standalone site in the United States, according to a recent article in PC Magazine (http://www.pcmag.com). Recently, the site rolled out redesigned profile pages that place more of an emphasis on images and content.

More companies are joining Pinterest every day, including the Today Show, Esty, Southwest Airlines and Sony Electronics. Businesses have a big incentive to join the Pinterest, which attracts about 2.2 million active users each day and 12 million each month, says PC Magazine.
