Summer 2013 Home Textiles Market Week Welcomes Influx of New Suppliers to Three NYC Venues

The summer edition of New York’s Home Textiles Market Week® – the largest market for home textiles resources in the United States – will feature an influx of new bed, bath, linen and home fashion vendors, August 16-22, 2013, at three New York City venues, NY NOW, the Market for Home & Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF); 230 Fifth Avenue; and 7 W New York®). Home Textiles Market week also will include a series of buyer-directed educational seminars, special events and promotions at each location.

“With this summer’s strategic reorganization of NY NOW, all home textiles suppliers are now conveniently grouped together within NY NOW’s HOME Collection located on Level Three of the Javits Center,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and GLM senior vice president. “Buyers will enjoy streamlined shopping as a result of this reorganization of the NY NOW exhibit floor.”

Among the 1,200 exhibitors in the NY NOW HOME collection, are 200+ suppliers of suppliers of mid-to-high-end bed and bath fashions, such as table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics. To facilitate sourcing and shopping, these resources are concentrated within the HOME Collection’s Home Furnishings + Textiles section. Newcomers for the summer 2013 market include leading industry brands as well as emerging resources, such as Bronte by Moon, A division of Abraham Moon & Sons; Classic Concepts; Evitavonni; Faribault Mills; Frette; Henry Handwork; Kiska Textiles; Linum AB; LUK + K LLC; Makie; PillowHeaven Ltd; Sara Bengur Shop; Shanghai Autex Company Limited; Silk Story LLC; Simple Things Ltd.; Vestiges; and Zyle Heirloom.

NY NOW HOME also welcomes 13 companies returning to the market following a hiatus, including: Binntu Inc.; Burrow & Hive LLC; Eliko Antique and Decorative Rugs; Ferran-New York; French Laundry Home; Hamburg House Inc.; K & K Tabletops; Lacefield Designs; Rhadi LLC; Sefte; Slate and Coral; VDS Group/Voila Home; and Zicci Bea Bedding.

At 230 Fifth Avenue, new textiles tenants include Caldeira USA; The Gallery; and S.L. Home Fashions, Inc. These newcomers join the building’s roster of high-end home textiles brands including Designers Guild, EKE USA, Nancy Koltes Fine Linens and Yves Delorme.

Several educational seminars and social events will supplement Market Week activities. Buyer focused events and amenities at 7W include complimentary lunch vouchers on selected days, a buyer’s lounge with complimentary coffee, periodicals, hi-speed internet and goodie bags, showroom specials (including both International and “Shop Local” days), product launches, extended shopping hours and promotions. 230 Fifth Avenue also will offer complimentary breakfast and lunch, promotional giveaways and showroom receptions.

Educational programming offered at NY NOW during Market Week includes the “Open House” trend display showcasing four key home design trends for 2013-2014, sponsored by One Kings Lane, Gifts & Decorative Accessories, Home Accents Todayand Home Textiles Today. A related seminar, “Open House – Key Trends In Home Products,” will explore the trends in detail on Sunday, August 18; with two additional seminars addressing color and design trends on Monday, August 19 – “From Color Theory to Selection,” presented by New York’s Chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) – and on Tuesday, August 20, “Design Destinations – Where Fashion, Home & Lifestyle Design Is Going Next,” presented by the Fashion Group International. Home Textiles Market Week “Best New Product Awards” will be presented to select NY NOW home textiles suppliers during market week. Awards will recognize excellence in four categories – Bath, Bed, Dining and Home Accessories – along with one overall “Best of Market distinction. Judging will be conducted by a panel of trade and consumer editors, and winners will be announced on Friday, August 16.
