After a Year, Watertown’s Shop Local Group Eyes Future
Watertown, MA – Watertown Local First, a network of independent local businesses that advocate for local shopping, is celebrating its first anniversary next month.
With a year under its belt, the organization is now planning initiatives that will continue to encourage local shopping in its second year.
Rena Baskin, clerk and community liaison for Watertown Local First, said the businesses decided to found the group because money spent locally stays local, creates a vibrant downtown community and encourages walking.
