Glencoe, IL – Ask Walter Radloff why his Glencoe floral and gift shop, The Flower Shop has managed to thrive, despite the economy and the disappearance of most small floral shops, and he’ll tell you it comes down to two things: account diversification and the quality and beauty of the store’s arrangements.

“My designers are really experienced and talented,” said Radloff, a former advertising executive who bought The Flower Shop 15 years ago. “Our floral arrangements are the prettiest, and we only use premium flowers.”

Radloff, who grew up in Winnetka graduated from Boston University and then spent 20 years working at various large advertising agencies in the city, handling accounts like Kellogg and Frito Lay.
