Simpsonville, SC – Roger Bowman does not look like a tea person. With his cut to the chase tone and biting wit, he seems more suited for the corporate world than as the owner of a quaint tea shop and cafe in Simpsonville. But, looks can be deceiving. Bowman and his wife, Penny, with backgrounds in sales, entreprenuring spirits and a love of tea, opened Tea N’ Things in downtown Simpsonville this month and have been slowly spreading the gospel of tea throughout the Upstate.

Tea N’ Things is located in the former Amanzi Tea Cafe, and fans of that tea will notice some distinct similarities. Tea N’ Things serves up many of the same drinks Amanzi did, as well as a few more.

For instance Roger’s Frozen Hot Choclate. The drink is a frappe, a blend of fresh brewed green tea, chocolate, ice, milk and is topped with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle.
