Papel Moves Forward

After several years of absence from the giftware industry, PAPEL DESIGNS has emerged with new designs that are rapidly making headway into international markets. Having semi-retired from 2005 – 2012, industry icon, Stanley Papel is back in full force to develop expression gifts.

In 2012, Papel introduced an updated “Best of Papel” gift line in Hong Kong that brought orders throughout much of Europe and Asia, re-establishing Papel’s strength in the industry.

A new giftware line for 2014, available for direct import and licensing, will be introduced this year in Hong Kong during two gift shows in April as follows:

HK China Sourcing Fair
At Asia Expo (Hong Kong)
Date: April 19-22, 2013
Booth #: 8F 21

HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair 2013
At Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
Date: April 27-30, 2013
Booth #: 5FD 16

“I’m very hopeful that the new line will become available in the USA under license,” stated Papel. “We’re getting great re-orders from the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and several other countries. It would be wonderful to see the line back in the USA.”

New products for 2014 include:
– Personalized Name Programs,
– Novelty Mugs,
– Age related products,
– a Baby line,
– Adult Banks,
– Sports and Hobby designs,
and many other items in ceramic, glass, acrylic and textile.

Papel currently offers a Name Origin Mug program, utilizing more than 6,000 first names, in the USA, through Personal Creations on the internet www.personalcreations.com.

Stanley Papel has been in the giftware industry since the 1950’s when founder, Phil Papel, established a wholesale company to support the expansion of their retail stores located in Southern California. Company sales reached a peak in the 1990’s with distribution to over 20 countries. Papel was sold to Russ in 1987. Stanley Papel bought back the trademark and design rights in 2002.
