WILLIAMSBURG Introduces ‘Trend Meets Tradition’ Lighting Collection With New Licensee Robert Abbey, Inc

WILLIAMSBURG announces a new licensing program with Robert Abbey, Inc, a leader in portable and fixture lighting. The collection, launching at High Point International Home Furnishings Market, will feature twelve lighting families with sophisticated, contemporary takes on 18th-century designs. In addition to translating traditional patterns to suit both classic and contemporary interiors, the line incorporates modern materials for a trend-forward update with timeless appeal.

With inspiration stemming from period pattern books, molded brick chimneys and elaborate chair details, the collection bears rich colors and bold shapes. Two outstanding pieces – the black crystal Dunmore Lamp based on the splat of a Virginia-made chair, and the Ming Lamp in the shape of a crystal and glass pagoda – are deeply rooted in 18th-century global chic themes. The on-trend palette of the collection includes ‘Mayo Teal,’ ‘Carter Gray,’ ‘Parrot Green’ and other shades from Benjamin Moore’s historically authentic WILLIAMSBURG Color Collection.

“We are delighted to work with the incredibly talented design team at Robert Abbey,” WILLIAMSBURG Product Manager Liza Gusler said. “They appreciate that the proportions, shapes, colors and textures of architecture and furnishings seen in Colonial Williamsburg’s Revolutionary City have timeless appeal.”

“Colonial Williamsburg is recognized the world over for the part it played in the American Revolution and our country’s history. It is our hope that we can play a part in the efforts to maintain and preserve this treasured historic landmark. Our objective was to take inspiration from elements from the 18th century and make them fashionable for today’s lifestyle,” Ken Wilkinson, president of Robert Abbey, Inc. said. “Our entire team at is extremely proud to be chosen to develop and produce lighting products for the WILLIAMSBURG brand.”

The full breadth of the collection will be available by November in specialty stores nationwide, with selected styles offered at www.williamsburgmarketplace.com and the WILLIAMSBURG at Home store. Retail prices will range from $250-$750.
