Las Vegas Winter Market Poised for Another Record-Breaking Show

Buyer registration for the Winter 2015 Las Vegas Market, running January 18-22, is pacing ahead of all previous shows, continuing the upward trajectory of Las Vegas Market. In concert with growing attendance, the market has also experienced tremendous resource growth across a multitude of categories with the launch of new floors, expansion of existing categories, and addition of new product categories.

The most notable gains in buyer registration have been in the gift and home décor categories, which supplement the existing furniture buyer base that has been coming to Las Vegas Market since its launch nearly ten years ago. Most notable are gains in registration from the TOLA region (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas) with a 32% increase over last year, and the Midwest with a 31% gain compared to last winter. The gains in these areas support the primary western region which is the strongest draw for buyers. The furniture buying power remains strong at Las Vegas Market with 82 of the top 100 retailers registered to date. International registration is strong with buyers registered from 91 countries around the world.

As Las Vegas Market has continued to enhance the better goods offering at the market, the interior design community has taken notice and interior design registration for the Winter market is up 25% over last Winter.

“Winter 2015 marks the continuation of Las Vegas Market’s accelerated growth, highlighted by an increase in breadth and depth of product across all categories,” said Bob Maricich, chief executive officer of International Market Centers (IMC). “The rate of growth and resource aggregation is incredible. This market has accomplished in ten years what took other markets 50-100 years to build. It’s really unprecedented, and it is resonating within the industries we serve.”

More than 225 new furniture, gift and home décor exhibitors have been added since the Summer 2014 Market and more than 480 new exhibitors in the last year, further establishing Las Vegas Market as the most comprehensive, cross-category market housed on one easy to shop campus.

Furniture resources on the Las Vegas Market campus are at their peak with temporary space sold-out and permanent space at 97% occupancy and counting. New home furnishings tenants continue to join Las Vegas Market, including newcomers this market: Caracole, Jackson Furniture/Catnapper, Z-Line Designs, and Kuka, among others . Renewals and expansions are also at an all-time high, including significant expansions from key tenants such as Palliser, England, Flexsteel, and Cheers Man-Wah.

Cementing its position as THE national bedding market, all of the top 15 major bedding producers show at Las Vegas Market, including Serta, Sealy, Simmons, Tempur-Pedic and more. Probably more than any other category in the home industry, innovation drives the bedding category, so new companies continue to continue to join the market by leasing permanent showrooms, including Soft-tex, Eco Comfort, Revive Sleep, Spring Time Bedding, XSensor Technology, Customatic Adjustable Bedz and Furinno.

Winter Market showcases greater breadth and depth throughout the gift and home décor category with debuts from leading brands such as Amity Home, Auskin, Blithe and Bonnie, JURA Inc., Mariposa, Mitchell Black, Olivia Riegel, Papaya, Portman Studios, Precious Moments, Vera Bradley, and many more. Renewals and expansions continue to grow in record numbers, with Ivystone’s 31,500 square-foot showroom making the multi-line national sales agency now the largest gift and home tenant in building C. Other major expansion in gift and home décor showrooms for this Winter include CHC Art, Fine Lines, Gerson International/Sterling, Hanna’s Handiworks, JLA Home and Kaleen.

In addition, Winter Market ushers in the accelerated launch of a redesigned C5, further expanding the boutique home accessory offering. The C5 launch moves Las Vegas Market closer to the completion of its three-year strategic growth plan for gift and home décor. C5 is the Market’s newest resource for high-end home décor, home textiles, and accessories. Launching six months earlier than originally scheduled, the premiere of a transformed C5 will debut as a hybrid presentation of permanent showrooms and temporary exhibits.

In addition to 5 million square feet of showroom space to shop, Las Vegas Market provides Winter attendees with a robust roster of original programming that will give designers and retailers the opportunity to connect with peers, keep up with industry trends and get insights on important issues impacting the industry. Leaders in their respective fields are invited to Las Vegas Market to share their knowledge and expertise – whether it’s a design icon like Carleton Varney, a Pantone color expert like Laurie Pressman, or Wayfair Creative Director Christiane Lemieux – attendees are guaranteed to walk away with cutting-edge, relevant and tangible information to apply to their businesses.

As further added value, Las Vegas Market Winter 2015 edition is timed to coincide with the second annual Design & Construction Week™ (DCW), bringing together five of the leading design and construction industry trade shows in Las Vegas, in what is expected to be the largest-ever residential construction and housing exposition in the nation in 2015. The first-ever convergence of these five events – the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders Show (IBS); the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS); the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE); and The International Surface Event (TISE), made up of SURFACES, STONExpo/Marmomacc Americas and TileExpo – will offer new cross-market opportunities to Las Vegas Market buyers and suppliers as well as indirect benefits for our related home décor and gift audience.
