Dallas meets buyer demand for products with a story

DMC

This summer, Dallas Market Center delivers more story-centered product resources than any other marketplace during the Total Home & Gift Market, June 22-28, featuring the American Made Show, the International Folk Art Market Collection, the Design Temps, the Vintage Temps and new and noteworthy lines.

“Buyers are looking for products that have a connection, that are memorable and that are crafted with quality and care,” Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center said. “Our commitment to quality products is expanding to meet the needs of buyers seeking globally inspired products that can be found locally in many of our showrooms. Buyers are also able to experience the emotional impact of their purchases by connecting with the artisans and seeing firsthand how products are crafted. The International Folk Art Market Collection and the American Made Show allow them this novel opportunity.”

As buyers continue to seek additional merchandising opportunities, the American Made Show provides them with handcrafted, one-of-a-kind items from a variety of categories including jewelry to housewares. With their new location on the twelfth floor, the American Made Show offers buyers a curated collection of exciting and unique merchandise and the opportunity to diversify their product offerings.

Local meets global as the International Folk Art Market Collection presents artisans from all over the world crafting their wares and sharing their stories with their art. IFAM opens the door for artisans to foster growth and cultural stability in their communities as they learn to market their ancestral trades. The collection will be available to view and purchase June 22-26 in the World Trade Center first floor, Hall of Nations.

In addition to specialized shows, exhibitors are increasingly incorporating new lines that share a story. Among hundreds of examples are jewelry line Women Warriors with their unique story of aspiration and dedication; Laura Zindel’s ceramics that begin with a hand-drawn sketch; Juliska, embracing the human connection with their perfectly imperfect designs; KurtMen Designs, creating one-of-a-kind, personalized fashion accessories; and Phillips Collection’s one-of-a-kind conversational pieces.

The Design and Vintage Temps are home to some of the most unique products found at Market. From home accent pieces to reclaimed treasures, the temp areas provide buyers with an array of products they can only find in Dallas.
